As the weeks progress, Hogwarts Legacy has a very high hype expectations, although these days, it has not been for this. In this case it is time to talk about its rating in the Peg ranking, which measures the recommended age to play these games. For many weeks, this had a provisional Balance of PEGI16, ** But now, both PlayStation and Xbox have updated their pages by qualifying it as a PEGI11 game.

Since 2021, information arrives, through leaks or trailers about one of the most anticipated games of 2023. All have one thing in common: They show us how the 1890s in Hogwarts was dark and, on many occasions, we could say that even scary.
The last trailer is also mounted to scare ourselves with the famous Hogsmeade haunted store. We personally believe that Hogwarts Legacy will be a game where fear will have an impact on the game (prohibited forest, some screams, omnipresent black magic) and where the unforgivable curses, and with it some violence, it will be allowed.
Despite this change of date, we explain some characteristics of this assessment.
Detailed Pegi16
This means that there may be scenes of violence or sexuality that look like the real (in the case of Hogwarts, it is more violence fights). Vulgar language or tobacco, alcohol and drugs can also appear in the GEGI16 games.
Detailed PEGI12
The game is prohibited for children under 12 years. It contains scenes that can scandalize the youngest (nakedness, violence, for example) and/or includes a little fine (but not sexual insults).
On the Xbox web portal they describe the game as: mild violence, bad (moderate) words, purchases in the game
ESB: The answer to everything?
The only official qualification available at this time is none other than the American ESB that is in T for teenager. The official site also indicates that ** The game will contain fantastic violence, blood, vulgar language and alcohol use.
Also keep in mind that in Australia, the qualification remains different but corresponds to 15+. Specifies that there may be purchases within the game (these purchases are simply to obtain the luxury edition if you have the standard), but also that there will be online features.
The latter is a real mystery. Hogwarts is supposed to be a single player game without a multiplayer option. These online characteristics can mean that an Internet connection would be necessary to play or take advantage of certain functions, such as sharing photos on social networks, for example.
Is the reasonable pegi11 qualification?
At the moment, the official French site has not indicated anything about it, and we rely on the Sony and Microsoft portals. As a comparison, this classification applies to games where the characters are designed in a manga style, cartoons or even invented from scratch. Fortnite, Dragon Ball Z or Biomutant are in Pegi12 for example.
When enemies die, blood barely appears on the screen. For Hogwarts Legacy, the characters are certainly fictional but resemble humans (not counting fantastic creatures, of course). Especially since the graphics of the game allow us to believe in reality as if we were in Hogwarts.
Seeing the trailers and information we have had of the game, Hogwarts Legacy should maintain its provisional pegi16. Especially if the use of unforgivable spells is recurring. Perhaps the blood is not visible, but the violence will have a present impact in many sections of the adventure. The darkness of the stage makes me think that this game has nothing to do with a Fortnite or a biomutant and that a 12-year-old should not play it. In addition, the presence of alcohol, underlined by the ESB, is also a feature of Pegi16.
